JUST CAUSE 4 RESOLUTION (PS4, PRO) & RENDERS (720P, 1080P)

If you’re looking for absolute chaos and destruction, you need to check out the Just Cause franchise. Just Cause 4 was released across PS4, PC and Xbox One. The latest iteration in the popular series once again stars Rico Rodriguez as he wreaks havoc and tries to uncover answers about his father’s involvement with Black Hand, a powerful private army run by Gabriella Morales. However, according to preliminary tests, it seems like the Just Cause 4 Resolution on PS4 isn’t very good. Let’s take a closer look at why that might be the case.

JUST CAUSE 4 RESOLUTION ON PS4 AND PS4 PRO REVEALED, DOWNSCALES TO 720P IN GRAPHICALLY INTENSIVE GAMEPLAY

After playing the PS4 version of the game, it’s clear that the old hardware of PS4, especially the base model, is showing its age. The hardware within a game like Just Cause 4, which features an open world environment with lots of activities going on at once, appears to have difficulties maintaining a constant 1080p resolution.

Games with a lot of explosions and action often result in the quality of graphics on a base PS4 decreasing to 720p. The PS4 Pro does better in these cases, more frequently maintaining 1080p resolution.

The problem is that the base model of PS4, according to preliminary testing, can only produce a 720p resolution even when there isn’t much on-screen action. It appears that the developers were left with no choice but to reduce the resolution in order for the game to maintain a consistent framerate. On the plus side, by trading resolution and graphical quality for increased fps.

If you want the best possible experience while playing Just Cause 4, a gaming PC will give you the best performance. If you want to play on a console, then the Xbox One X performs slightly better than the PS4.

The PS4 version of the game, on top of the graphical compromises, utilizes a lot of motion blur and shimmering aliasing. When you start exploring the world, this becomes very apparent. Of course, I don’t expect anyone to buy a gaming PC just for one game; but if you have a gaming PC and console, I strongly recommend that you play it on PC rather than a console. There are no questions asked.
