Men’s Singles :

Jonatan Christie[3] and Anthony Sinisuka GINTING[2] played Men’s Singles final match of the Australian Badminton Open 2019 tournament. Both players played an interesting three-set game with the score 21-17 13-21 21-14. Jonatan grabs the title form Ginting with a thrilling win.

Jonatan Christie performance was incredible throughout the tournament. He played very tough matches and successfully won them. In R1 he faced LU GUANGZU, R2 against Tanongsak, QF against Superstar LIN DAN[8] and won with two straight games, SF against CHOU Tien Chen[1] and grabbed another incredible win.

When the trophy is handed over to Jonatan Christie, he asked his Indonesian’s mate Ginting to equally hold the trophy, at first Ginting denied because it’s not good but Jonatan Christie continuously requested him to hold, finally, Ginting agreed and hold the equal trophy.

In Men’s Doubles, Korean pair KO Sung Hyun and SHIN Baek Cheol won men’s double title in the Australian open 2019 tournament. Korean pair stuns No1 Japanese MD seed Takeshi KAMURA[1] Keigo SONODA[1] with the straight two games.

Women’s Doubles :

In Women’s Doubles, Japanese Pair Yuki FUKUSHIMA [2] and Sayaka HIROTA [2] won the match against Chinese WD pair CHEN Qingchen [3] and JIA Yifan [3] with straight two games score 21-10 21-16.

Mixed Doubles :

In Mixed Doubles, No1 Chinese seed XD pair WANG Yilyu [1] and HUANG Dongping [1] played a very interesting game against Indonesian XD pair Praveen JORDAN [6] and Melati Daeva OKTAVIANTI [6]. Chinese Pair won the match with two straight games score 21-15 21-8. In the second games, they stopped Indonesians at 8 points.

China grabs 2 titles of Mixed Doubles and Women’s Singles in Australian Open 2019. Japan, Korea and Indonesia took one title form HSBC World Tour Crown Group Australian Open 2019 (Badminton).

According to the current situation BWF (Badminton World Federation) and Badminton World Championship, authorities announce to cancel or postpone all the upcoming badminton tournaments 2020 under HSBC BWF World Tour 2020 due to spreading of coronavirus from 16 March to 12 April 2020.

Due to the escalation of the COVID-19 outbreak BWF consults with their member associations and decided to postpone or cancel all the upcoming tournaments in a specific period of time. Because of restriction in the places and heightened travel as well as extreme complications BWF wants to save their badminton athletes form any unusual things.

Badminton tournaments in 2020 suspended because Badminton world championship authorities and BWF strongly follows the health safety and wellbeing of athletes to encourage the badminton community.

The suspension of multiple badminton tournaments 2020 affected such as YONEX-SUNRISE India Open 2020, Swiss Open, Orleans Masters 2020, Malaysia & Singapore Open 2020, and many other Grade 3 badminton tournaments.
